At VRDB, we believe that exceptional design begins with trust and collaboration. Our practice is founded on integrity, precision, and timeless architectural principles. Design is more than the creation of drawings — it is a disciplined process that demands creativity, technical expertise, coordination, and dedicated time. Our professional fees reflect the comprehensive effort required to translate vision into built form, ensuring every project receives the attention it deserves.

Fee Structure

VRDB’s professional fees are primarily based on the scope of work and the deliverables required for each project, rather than strictly on a percentage of the construction value. This approach ensures that our fees accurately reflect the level of professional input, documentation, and coordination required for your specific project. Disbursements, such as travel, printing, municipal submission fees, and specialist consultant costs, are excluded from our professional fees and will be invoiced separately as they occur.

Why Our Fees Matter

Commitment to Excellence
Every stage — from concept design to project completion — is handled with thorough care, professional integrity, and architectural discipline.

Transparency and Trust
By clearly outlining our fee structure, we promote open communication and mutual confidence between client and architect.

Value Beyond Cost
Our clients invest not only in design but in a complete professional service — one that safeguards the integrity, functionality, and long-term value of their project.

Renovations require a distinct and highly considered approach compared to new construction.
At VRDB, every renovation begins with an in-depth consultation to understand your vision, requirements, and budget. This initial conversation allows us to identify priorities, assess existing conditions, and anticipate any challenges unique to your property.

When precise documentation of an existing structure is required, VRDB utilises advanced 3D LiDAR scanning technology to capture every architectural detail. This process produces an accurate digital twin model of your building — an invaluable tool for design integration, planning approvals, and preventing costly surprises during construction.

Renovation projects often present greater complexity than new builds. Hidden defects, outdated materials, or non-compliant installations can surface once work begins, sometimes increasing costs beyond those of a new structure. Consequently, professional fees for renovations are typically higher, reflecting the additional investigation, problem-solving, and design sensitivity required to merge old and new elements seamlessly.

While new builds provide a clean canvas for precision and complete creative control, renovations demand adaptability, technical expertise, and meticulous attention to detail.
With VRDB, you can be confident that your renovation will be managed with the same rigour, creativity, and professionalism that define all our projects — from first conversation to final completion.
